Only the Group Ranges must be reserved. All other bays are first come, first serve.

Fees are non-refundable.

No refunds will be granted for any reason, including conditions outside of our control, such as inclement weather, flooding, and/or fire restrictions. No water or power are present.

While some amenities are provided on site, it is the sole responsibility of the reserving party to provide firearms, ammunition, targets, cleaning and hand-washing supplies, drinking water, power source, extra seating, etc.

Regulations & Rules (Summary)

The shooting range is maintained by Iron County for the benefit of residents and their friends. The following rules must be adhered to:

  • Alcohol consumption is prohibited at all times.
  • No camping is allowed.
  • No smoking or vaping.
  • Any portion of any day used (including set up & tear down) is subject to the full fee.
  • Iron County may charge additional daily fees for late return of range keys.
  • No sale of beverages, goods, foods, or commercial transactions on the premises.
  • Fireworks and exploding targets are prohibited and subject to prosecution.
  • Shooting is permitted only within the boundaries of the range.
  • Leave no trace: carry out trash or deposit in provided containers (do not bury).
  • Destruction of public property or littering is a criminal offense. Report vandalism to the Iron County Sheriff's Office at (435) 867-7550.
  • Iron County is not responsible for personal property. Remove all personal property upon completion.
  • Please have a copy of your approved reservation with you on site.
  • Please respect other groups enjoying the park.
  • Do not feed, poach, or disturb wildlife.

Reservation Guidelines for the Iron County Shooting Range

Iron County reserves the right to limit group reservations to two weekends per month (Saturday and/or Sunday). A weekend counts even if only one day is reserved. Weekday reservations are not subject to this limitation.

  1. Amenities (group ranges require advance reservation):

    • Group Range #1: Long sunshade awning, (3) 45-yard bays, and (2) concrete tables
    • Group Range #2: (3) 45-yard bays and (3) concrete tables
    • 300-yard range: Concrete pads, nine concrete benches, and one bench with awning
    • 1000-yard range: Concrete pads, two adjustable benches, steel AR500 targets (200–1000 yards)
    • Six short-range bays (all have concrete pads):
      • North facing: 50 yards; pistols, rifles, shotguns (two have awnings)
      • South facing: 40 yards; pistols only (two have awnings)
    • Two double vault toilets
    • Trash cans
    • Emergency satellite phone
    • No water or electricity are present
  2. As of January 1, 2026, non-refundable fees for use of the group ranges have changed (no exceptions):

    • Up to 25 people (Range 1 or 2): $20 per day
    • Up to 25 people (Both Ranges): $40 per day
    • 26–59 people (Range 1 or 2): $40 per day
    • 26–59 people (Both Ranges): $60 per day
    • Groups 60+ require a Special Event Permit and approval from the Parks & Recreation Director.
    • Students K–12: Free (education/training purposes only)
  3. No refunds upon cancellation. Dates may be changed upon request and must be within the current calendar year.

  4. Reservation season is year-round.

  5. Group reservations may be limited to two weekends per month.

  6. Reservation requests are accepted for the current calendar year only.

  7. No reservation applications will be accepted until the first working day of the calendar year.

  8. A completed request form and applicable fees must be submitted in person to:

    Reservations are confirmed only upon receipt of payment.

  9. Digital submissions receive an email response within two business days. Payment must be made in person or by phone.

  10. A temporary two-week hold may be placed on a requested date. If not confirmed, the date may be released.

  11. Use of this facility is a privilege. Abuse or damage may result in termination of user privileges.

  12. Use of the range does not imply endorsement of users’ policies, beliefs, or programs by Iron County.

  13. Special events require a permit and additional documentation, including liability insurance and medical/law enforcement notifications. Special event fees may apply up to $500.

Applicant Attestation

I, the undersigned applicant, declare that I have examined and completed the application and that, to the best of my knowledge and belief, it is true, correct, and complete. I agree to the rules and regulations. I also agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Iron County and/or its agencies and representatives against and from any and all demands, claims, and liabilities of every nature whatsoever, including but not limited to damages to property, or injuries or death of persons arising directly or indirectly from the use and occupancy of the recreation area.
